So I managed to buy a 5.1 sound card on eBay for $10.50 which I have now installed with all drivers and I can now listen to the sounds of Pearl Jam and Smashing Pumpkins. I have hooked up a cheap pair of Creative Speakers which I will replace when I have some spare cash.
